Wedged in the crevasses of golden hills, the valley oak creates a cool oasis from the summer heat. Here, two kingbirds perch on top of wire cages which are protecting young oaks sprouting from acorns planted by school children. Point Blue Conservation Sciences works with schools to, improve habitat, support farmers, and sequester carbon by implementing climate smart restoration work.
