Phalarope Flight
Mono Lake is a unique jewel sheltered on the Eastern side of the Sierras. Phalaropes need the alkili flies and brine shrimp that fill these rich waters to fuel their migration to South America. An important rest stop for many bird species, Mono Lake also shelters key nesting area for the California Seagull. The fight to keep the lake from being drained by Los Angeles is an on-going struggle. I am hopeful that my prints will aide in this effort.
