Am I Real?

$1,000.00

This Brewer’s Blackbird was found stalking around the rim of a small pond by our house. I love the determination and fearlessness of blackbirds which I have observed chasing away Great Blue Herons venturing too close to a nest. His stance indicated a wariness which could have been something noticed that could be eaten or a danger.

After completing the work, I was contemplating several titles when I happened to hear a New York Times podcast about the “Birds Aren’t Real” mock conspiracy movement. Supposedly, birds have all been replaced by the government with spyware robotics that recharge themselves on power lines so of course the title had to be, “Am I Real?”

Print size 16x12
edition of 25
15 ink colors printed on Torinoko paper

Each “Creative Print” is an original. The inking and hand pulling processes are labor intensive, contributing lovely individual differences and insuring a small edition size. Prints are wrapped in archival paper, and shipped flat. Framed prints are available through my galleries. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
